GUIDE FOR COSMETIC SURGERY TOURISM IN TURKEY

Every year approximately 12 million people have cosmetic surgery all around the world and Turkey is one of the leading countries in cosmetic surgery tourism. Do to its facilities, world-renowned doctors and for it’s historical sites. When you’re thinking of getting cosmetic surgery done abroad what comes to mind is, Am I in safe hands? Do they know what they are doing? Is this doctor experienced enough? Is this facility simply the best? The important thing is to search for accurate and straight forward information. So the key element here is searching and asking the right questions…
So here are some questions we think you should ask before deciding where to have your surgery done.

How long has your plastic surgeon been operating?

We would recommend that your surgeon must be working as a plastic surgeon for atleast 10 years.

Is the doctor board certified?

Plastic surgeons in Turkey have to be board certified. If not don’t go through with the treatment.

Can I see before and after photos?

Yes, your surgeon will show you before and after photos but you have to keep in mind that he or she will not be able to show all of his work do to the privacy of his patients. Generally this number is between 1 to 3.

How many times do you perform this procedure in a month? Is he/she an expert in that field?

As in every business experience is very important. We believe in cosmetic surgery it is case sensitive because it can effect your health and/or apperance for your entire life!

Is the hospital where I’m going to have surgery JCI accredited?

JCI(Joint Commission International) focuses on the safety of the patient, the medication that is used and the safety of the facility. You can find out more about JCI(Joint Commission International) in the link below.  http://www.jointcommissioninternational.org If the surgery provider doesn’t perform your surgery in a JCI accredited hospital insist on having it in a JCI accredited hospital. DO NOT COMPRIMIZE IN YOUR HEALTH.

Will I be taken care of after the surgery?

After the surgery you will feel pain or discomfort for a certain amount of time. Generally the first day or two. During that time you may want to have someone with you. Ask if its possible to bring a relative or friend with you. If you are going to go through it alone you should have someone checking on you frequently.

What is included in the price?

Generally all cosmetic surgery facilitators cover your total stay, meals, medication and garments(if needed) within the price. But some facilitators just cover the surgery. So this is another issue you must look into. At Beautyform Cosmetic Surgery we cover everything except the flights.

NOTE:  Hair transplant procedures take between 4 to 10 hours depending on the amount of grafts you require. During the procedure sedatives are given to the area for the amount of time you are under treatment. So there is still a slight risk that your body would react to the medication. Therefore It‘s best to have the procedure done in a hospital environment where your doctor could intervene immediately during an emergency situation.
